Structure of the Documentation

This documentation for the Asset Manager is structured on the assumption that the server and client components are being installed from scratch. Accordingly, the following sequence is recommended for a successful implementation:

1. The basic functioning of the Asset Manager is described in the Architecture chapter.
2. First, you must verify that the system requirements for the server component are met.
3. In the next step, the server component can be installed.
   

   If the first two steps could not be completed successfully, it is not advisable to proceed with the installation of the client components instead, as these require a functioning server component.

4. Next, the system requirements on the respective clients are checked.
5. Now the Asset Manager can be installed on the clients.
6. After starting the Asset Manager for the first time, you must establish a connection to the Asset Manager Service once.
7. Additional settings can be configured in the Asset Manager’s Backstage area, if desired.
8. You can now work with the Asset Manager’s user interface.
