Remote Control

The “Remote Control” plugin allows you to establish a remote desktop connection to a computer directly within SCCM Manager.

Connection Setup:
  1. The SCCM Manager client downloads the Remote Control Viewer / “CmRcViewer.exe” (Config Manager) locally on the client from which the SCCM Manager client was launched
  2. CmRcViewer.exe initiates a connection to the remote system via TCP port 2701
  3. After the session is established, the system checks whether the user has permissions to control the remote system.
Connection / Firewall:

Regardless of where SCCM Manager is installed or where CmRcViewer.exe is running, the connection is always:
Client (CmRcViewer.exe)   → Remote System
